Amarnath cave temple


    Amarnath cave is a famous shrine in Hinduism located in the Indian state of  Jammu and Kashmir. It is dedicated to Shiva. the cave is situated at an altitude of 3888 m(12756 ft) about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town.

the shrine forms an important part of hinduism and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in hinduism and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in hindusim the cave4 is surrounded by snowy mountains the cave itself is covered with snow most time of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims an annual pilgrimage is made to the amarnath cave by lakhs (hundreds of thousands ) of hindu devotees on challenging mountainous terrain to see an ice stalagmite formed inside the cave

Inside the 40 m (130 ft) high Amarnath cave lord Shiva gets formed due to freezing of water drops that fall from the floor of the cave on the floor and grows up  vertically from the cave floor he waxes during may to august as snow melts in the Himalayas above the cave and the resultant water seeps into the rocks that from the cave and gradually wanes thereafter according to a Hindu legend this is the cave where Shiva explained the secret of life and etemity to his divine consort Parvati two other ice formations represent Parvati and Shiva's son Ganesha.

Birla mandir temple

The laxminarayan temple also known as the birla mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to laxminarayan in Delhi India laxminarayan usually refers to Vishnu preserverin the trimurti also known as Narayan, when he is with his consort lakshmi . The temple , inaugurated by mahatma Gandhi, was made built by b. r. birla and Jugal kishore birla from 1993 and 1939. the side temples are dedicated to Shiva, Krishna and Buddha.

The temple spread over 7.5 acres, is adorned with many shrines, fountains, and a large garden, and also houses geeta bhawan for discources. the temple is one of the mahor attrzctions of Delhi and attracts thousands of devotees on the Hindu festivals of hanmashtami and Diwali.

The construction of temple dedicated to laxmi narayan started in 1933, built by industrialist and philanthropist, baldeo das birla and his son jugal kishore birla of Birla family, thus, the temple is also known as Birla temple, locally. the foundation stone of temple was laid by maharah udaybhanusingh. the temple was built under guidance of pandit vishwanth shastri. the concluding ceremony and yagna was performed by swai keshwa nandji.

Brihadeeswara temple



The peruvudaiyar kovila, also known as Brihadeswara temple, Rajarajeshware temple and Rajarajeswaram , at Thanavur in the Indian state of Tamil nadu, is a Hindu temple dedicated to shiva and an of the work achieved by cholas in Tamil architecture. the temple is part of the unexco world heritage site "great living chola temples"

This temple is one of Indians most prized architectural sites. the temple stands amidst fortified walls that were probably added in the 16th century. the vimana of (temple tower) is 216 ft (66 m) high and is among the tallest of its kind in the world. there is a big statue of Nandi (sacred bull), carved out of a single rock, at the entrance measuring about 16 feet long and 13 feet high. the entire temple structure is made out of granite, the nearest sources of which are close to Tiruchirapalli, about 60 km to the west of Thanjavur. built in 1010 ad by raja raja chola l in Thanjavur, Brihaadeeswarar temple, also popularly known as the 'big temple' turned 1000 years old in 2010. this temple is the first building fully built by granite and finished within 5 yrs[1004 Ad-1009 Ad].




  

Golden temple


The harmandir sahib also darbar sahib and informally  referred to as the golden temple is a prominent Sikh gurdwara  located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab , India. it was built by the fifth Sikh guru, guru arjan dev, in the 16th century. in 1604, guru arjan dev completed the Adi granth, the holy scripture of Sikhism, and installed it in the Guradwara.

There are four doors to get into the harmandir sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions. the present day Gurdwara was rebuilt in 1764 by Jassa Singh Ahluwalia with the help of other Sikh misls in the early Nineteenth century Maharaja ranjit singh secured the Punjab region from outside attack and covered the upper floors of the gurdwara with gives it its distinctive appearance and English name the golden temple.

Sri hanumandir sahib is considered holy by Sikhs. the most holy text of Sikhism, the guru granth sahib, is always present inside the gurdwara. its construction was mainly intended to build a place of worship god equally. over one lakh (100000)people visit the holy shrine daily for worship.

 


Guruvayur sri krishna temple


Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Krishna, located in the town of Guruvayur in Kerala. India it is one of the most important places of worship for Hindus of Kerala and is often referred to as Bhuloka Vaikunta which translates to the holy abode of Vishnu on earth the idol installed at Guruvayur Sri Krishna temple represents a form of Krishna with its four arms carrying the conch pancajanya, the magical discus with serrated edges Sudarshana chakra, the mace kaumodaki and a lotus with a holy basil garland. this idol represents the majestic form of god Vishnu as revealed to Vasudeva and Devaki around the time of Krishna hence Guruvayur is also known as Dwaraka of south India Krisha is popularly known in Kerala by different names such as kannan , unnikkannan (baby Kannan) Unnikrishnan , Balakrishnan, and Guruvayurappan.

The presiding deity in the sri kovil of the guruvayur sri krishna temple is vishnu . he is currently worshiped (the "puja") according to routines laid down by Adi shankara and later written formally in the tantric way, the inter-religious spiritual movement that arose in medieval India, by cennas Narayanan Nambudiri(born in 1427). the cennas Nambudiris are the hereditary tantris of the guruvayur temple. the temple(puja) routines are strictly followed. the tantri is available full-time at the temple to ensure this. the melsanti (chief priest) enters the sanctum sanctorum at 2:30 in the morning and does not drink anything up to the completion of "noon worships" at 12:30 pm. the Vedic traditions being followed at this temple with absolute perfection is the hallmark of the guruvayur temple. it is important to note here that, even though the shrine is considered to be one of the holiest spots for vaishnavites, the temples is not a part of the famous 198 holy temples.

In ancient Dravidian languages, Kuruvai means sea hence the village on the Malabar coast may be called kuruvayur. the earliest temple records date back to 17th century.the earliest mention of the many important vishnu temples of Kerala are found in the songs of always, Tamil saints. whose time-line is not exactly fixed. mamankam was a very famous local event at Tirunavaya. on the bank of Bharatappuzha. the battles between the Cailcut under zamorins and valluvanad popularised guruvayur temple. due to the prolonged battles, people across the riverbank started preferring guruvayur.



Adi kumbeswarar temple


Tamil nadu town of kumbakonam,India. the Hindu festival of mahamaham is associated with this temple. is revered by the tevaram hymns of 7th century saiva nayanars-Tamil saint poets and is also classified as a paadal petra sthalam (temple revered by the bayaanars). the great mahamaham festival, attracting lacks of people from far and wide, is celebrated in hour of lord and it takes place once in 12 years. it is celebrated on the conjunction of the moon with the maha nakshatra and Jupiter crosses one rasi or sign in about one year.it comes to simha rasi of leo every 13th year and it is considered specially sacred. it is believed that on this auspicious day the tank receives and all the deities are said to remain present here on that occasion . every year in the month of maasi (Feb._mar) a festival is conducted and the image of lord kumbeswara is taken out in a procession. it is celebrated for 10 days during that period. theppam festival during panguni (mar-apl), sapthtathanam during chirirai month (Apl.-may). during this festival lords idol will be carried in a palanquin to nearby villages.

marriage festival for lord Adikimbeswarar  and goddess manalambigai will be conducted during vaikasi (may -jun). daily poohas are conducted six times from morning to evening.





Dwarakadheesh temple

The Dwarakadheesh temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to lord Krishna. who is worshiped here by the name Dwarkadhish, of king of dwarka . it is situated at dwarka Gujarat, which which is believed to have been built after the historic dwavarka city, the kingdom of Krishna which submerged in to the ocean after the mahabaharata war . the main shrine of the 5-storied building, supported by 72 pillars, is known as jagat mandir of nija mandir,and is believed to be 2,5000 years old. the Dwarakadhish temple , hence it follows the guidelines and rituals created by shree vallabhachcarya and shree vitheleshnathji. the present temple was built in 16th century ce, while the original temple was believed to to have been built by Krishna's grandson, vajranabha, over the hari -griha (lord Krishna's residential place.) the temple became a part of the char charm pilgrimage considered scared by Hindus in India,after adi shankaracharya, the 8th century reformer and philosopher, visited the shrine. even today a memorial within the temple is dedicated to his visit. dwarakadheesh is the 108th divya desam of lord vishnu on the subcontinent, glorified in the divya prabandha sacred texts. the town of dwarka in Gujarat has a history that dates back centuries, and is mentioned in the mahabharat as the dwaraka kingdom situated on the banks of river Gomati, the cities legend for being the capital of lord Krishna. the ancient city was submerged by raging sea waters eight times, but the remains have been found in undrwater excavation by Archeologists.
