Caves temple


The Ajanta caves in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India are about 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments which date from the 2nd century ce to about 480 of 650 ce. the caves are location in the Indian state of maharashtra, jalgaon just outside the village of ajinmaha') about 59 kilometers (36.6609 miles) from jalgaon railway station on the Delhi c Mumbai line of the central railway zone, and 104 kilometers (64. 62)from the city of aurangabad. the year 100 kilometers(62.13 miles) the ellora caves, which contain Hindu and Jain temples as well as Buddhist caves, the last dating from a period  similar to Ajanta. the Ajanta caves are cut into the side of a lift that is on the south side of a u-shaped forage on the small river waghora (or wagura), and although they are now along and above a modem pathway running across the cliff they were originally reached by individual stairs of ladders from the side of the river 35 to 110 feet below.
Ellora also known as ellooru, is an archaeological site 29 km (18 mi) north-west of the city of aurangabad in the Indian state of maharashtra built by the rashtrakuta dynasty. well known for its monumental caves, ellora is a world heritage site. ellora represents the epitome of Indian rock-cut architecture . the 34 "caves" c actually structures excavated out of the vertical face of the charanandri hills. Buddhist, Hindu and Jain rock-cut temples and viharas and mathas were built between the 5th century and 10th century. the 12 Buddhist (caves 13 "c29) and 5 Jain (caves 30 c34 ) caves, built in proximity , demonstrate the religious  harmony prevalent during this period  of Indian history. it is a protected monument under the archaeological survey of India.


Badrinath temple


Badrinath temple something called Badrinarayan temple is situated along the Alakanada  river in the hill town of Badrinath in Uttarakhand state in India it is widely considered to be  one of the holiest Hindu temples and is dedicated to god Vishnu the temple and town are one of the four char dham and chota char dham pilgrimage sites it is also one of the 108 divya desams holy shrines for vaishnavites the temple is open only six months every year (between the end of April and the beginning of November ) due to extreme weather conditions in the Himalayan region

Several murtis are worshiped in the temple the most important is a one meter tall statue of vishnu as lord Badrinarayan made of black saligram stone the statue is considered by many Hindus to be one of eight swayam vyakta kshetras of self manistatues  statues of vishnu the murti depicts vishnu sitting in meditative posture rather than his far more typical redlining pose in November each year,when the town of Badrinath is closed the image is moved to near by jyotrimanth.

The temple is approximately 50 ft (15 meters) tall with a small cupola on top covered with a gold gilt roof .the facade is built one of stone with arched windows a v road stairway leads up to a tall arched gateway which is the main entrance the tapt kund hot sulphur springs must below the temple are considered to be mediccinal  many pilgrims consider it a requirement to bathe in the springs before visiting the temple the springs have a year round temperature of 45 c.`
 

Annamalaiyar Temple


Annamalaiyar temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the deity Shiva located at the base of  thiruvannaalain, Tamil nadu, India it is significant to the Hindu sect of Saivism as one of the temples associated with the five elements the pancha bhoota satlas and specifically the element of fire of again the temple is situated at the bottom of the annamalai hills and faces east lying over 25 acres

the temple complex cover 10 ghecatres and is one of the largest in India it houses four gateway  towers known as gopurams the tallest is the eastern tower with 11 stories and a height of 66 meters (217 ft) making it one of the tallest  temple has numerous shrines with those 3 of annamalaiyar and unnamulai amman being the most prominent the  temple complex houses may halls the most notable is the thousand - pillared Mahall built during the vihayanagar period.

the present masonry structure was built during the chola dynasty in the 9th century while later expansions are attributed to vijayangar rulers of the sangama dynasty (1336- 1485 ce) the saluva dynasty and the ruluva dynasty (1491-1570 ce) the temple is maintained and administrede by the Hindu religious and endowment board of the government of Tamil nadu the main shrine of annamalaiyar faces east housing images of nandi and surya and is the oldest structure in the temple.

Akshardham temple



Akshardham is a Hindu temple complex in Delhi, India. also referred to as Delhi Akshardham of swaminarayan akshardham, the complex displays millennia os traditional Hindu and Indian culture, spirituality, and architecture.

the building was inspired and developed by pramukh swami maharaj,the spiritual head of the bochasanwasi shri akshar purushottam swami narayan sanstha, whose 3000 volunteers helped 7000 artisans construct Akshardham. it measures 356 ft (109 m).long . 316 ft (96 m). wide and 14 ft (43 m)high ,covering an area of 86,342 sqft (8,021 f. 4 m).

The grand ,ancient-style,ornately hand-carved stone temple has been built without structural steel within five years by 11000 artisans and volunteers. the swaminarayan akshardham complex was built in only five years through the blessings of Hindhu pramukh swami maharah of the bochasanwasi shri akshar purushottam swaminarayan sanstha (baps) and the colossal devotional efforts of 11000 artisans and thousands of baps volunteers.

Credits   heralded by the Guinness world record as largest comprehensive Hindu temple. baps swaminarayan akshardham in new Delhi,India is the worlds largest comprehensive Hindu temple.
